SPUN (Society for the Protection of Underground Networks) is offering a FREE pre-symposium Bioinformatics workshop to be held in Leticia, Amazonas, Colombia on August 24th-26th, 2023 in the frame of the III International symposium of mycorrhizal symbiosis.
The course will include an introduction to command-line computing and the installation of bioinformatics tools. We will use practice datasets, or the participant’s own data, to work through metabarcoding sequence read pre-processing, quality filtering, clustering, and taxonomic classification. Participants will learn how to use various bioinformatics tools such as QIIME, DADA2, and other R packages to perform these tasks.
If you are a graduate student (MSc or PhD), postdoc, researcher, or professor please apply. Applicants that are planning to produce amplicon sequence data in the near future or currently have their own datasets are especially encouraged.
