Rare urban old-growth forest, 120 acres, 500 years since the last stand-replacement fire. Sword ferns and Western Hemlock in precipitous decline. Documentary at https://sewardpark.org. In collaboration with with UW and WSU scientists, endorsed by Dr. Jerry Franklin, we seek to comprehend and respond to the loss of these essential species.
