Underground astronaut
Underground Astronauts are interested in the study and exploration of the Earth’s underground ecosystems. Their focus is on exploring how different underground ecosystems function and describing and quantifying soil life, including fungi, bacteria and soil animals. Like astronauts that explore space, underground astronauts employ emerging techniques to make invisible worlds become visible, including high-resolution imaging, sequencing of unknown organisms, and monitoring changes below-ground.
